^Douchebags I think. (Clothing stores, high end bars & restaurants, increasingly chain retail. It's all going downhill....vomit.)

Ossington is also becoming too expensive for art galleries to thrive. Many will be closing and moving to Dundas West & beyond.

Inter/Access

Dundas West is where it's at these days. Art central. It reminds of Queen West c.2004. Which is fine by me because it's that much closer to where I live. Except the art is more corporate, less "weird" which is how I remember West Queen West being in in the nineties.

I just noticed this "Art" sign in the alley beside Art Metropole's new hq:

Then there's a little scene happening on St Helen's between College & Bloor, and another around Bloor and Lansdowne.

Looks like something new happening near Bloor & Lansdowne, north side of Bloor.

There's random (not very great imo) galleries scattered around Leslieville, the Junction, Yorkville.

Bathurst south of Dupont has some cool galleries worth checking out.



Then there's the White House in Kensington Market--some of my friends have cool shows there.

16 November 2012: After visiting the horror show at Aura I walked home along Dundas West. From high end restaurants like Bent to MK 127's new gallery space on Dundas West near Ossington, Dundas West is most definitely the new Queen West.

UTweeps (ha) it's been 2 months since I've updated this thread. That means I've 2 months' worth of updates to post now--yikes. (Although when I'm creating art I tend to find less time to visit galleries, so now I mostly just shoot the exterior window shopping style.)

I love this thread!!! I have been following it for years, its one of my faves, don't stop now! Its a good way find out about Toronto's emerging artists too. I love seeing these small galleries pop up through out the downtown.
