Unique Houses in Toronto

I'm not sure if this has been posted yet (surprised if it hasn't), but here is Donald Chong's Galley House in Roncesvalles. I think it's brilliant.

P_Galley-House_01.jpg

Here it is on the architect's website: http://williamsonchong.com/projects/galley-house/

Dwell ran an article on it a few years ago with loads of photos: http://www.dwell.com/articles/slim-fit.html

I've been through side streets up and down Roncesvalles trying to find it. Anyone know where it is?

It's located at 70 Galley Avenue.

The asphalt patch on the sidewalk is a nice decorative feature. The owner must use a John Deere to cut that lawn.

The transparent upper portion of the house is perfect for one of those unmotivated, naked butt in the moonbeam walks.

Here's a cool one at 80 North Dr.

Check out the link for interior shots. Really nice place and property.

And that's all. Now I can take a dump.

Those were great posts, Tarantulal Downpours. 91 Claremont Street is unusual as an instance of a unique pair of semis. 548 Richmond St W looks quite interesting, presenting a distinctive form to the world yet inward-focused and placid like an ancient temple. (This effect is no doubt furthered by the textures in the grey cladding.)

Thanks.

91 Laurentide Dr - Yarmon House

This home is gorgeous and still in it's original state. The owner is in his 90s and has been living there since the 50s. He has a large, shaded backyard and has a lot of space between his house and his closest neighbour on Spinney Ct.

Geez, these Chong places are not the short of houses one would wander around in the nude, are they? You'd spend your whole life trussed up like Mr. Rogers just in case the meter reader happened by. ;)

On Waverly in the Beaches area.
