The busway seems more and more needed everyday as Metrolinx is already 2 years behind on tunnelling for the SSE due to "unforeseen soil conditions." Tunnelling should have been completed by the new year...
The TBM has only travelled 1 kilometre and is just south of the 401 currently (and has been sitting idle for months), meaning it still has to make the entire way to Eglinton and Kennedy via McCowan.
Station erection work can also not commence until tunnelling is completed, adding more to the delays.
We will definitely be using the busway far into the 2030's for those who have questioned it for being useful only for 2 years.
