TTC: Scarborough Busway Construction (portion of the former Scarborough RT route)

Something I'll never get, why so many "express buses" in that area make every single local stop!

Because the idea of those types of express service was that everyone was loading at a single (or very few points), going a great distance, and then getting off at a group of stops at the far end. (And vice versa, of course.)

This is the same mentality that GO uses for its rush hour express services, as do a lot of commuter agencies.

945: Because the 45 alone has appalling frequencies.

960: because at rush hour the 60 doesn't run west of Pioneer Village. Who cares if it's branded as the 60 or the 960? You would get the same service levels anyway, it's just what they're labelled as that's different.
The 45 runs at a minimum of 10 mins (often much more frequent) except for the wee hours

On the combined corridor south of Belfield. But north of there it runs every 20 (!) minutes during rush hour.
This is a pretty frequent schedule imo?

And Rexdale blvd

The schedule from Kipling shows the combined frequency of the 45A and 45B branches and doesn't give a true picture of conditions along either branch - hence, my previous post. If you need to go to points south of Belfield you're fine. Doubly so if you need to get somewhere along the express route.

From Rexdale Boulevard... that's an odd one, and it doesn't really match the posted service frequencies of the service summary, especially in the 1 pm hour (I wonder if those are trippers for some employer somewhere along the route). But here it is straight from the horse's mouth, as it were:

Can someone explain why building a busway is going to take two years? And why they waited so long to start building it?
Well a year was lost due to the TTC's incompetence in failing to perform a TPAP to make changes to the corridor.

Also new design features needed to be incorporated such as barriers between the ROW and the Stoufville corridor GO tracks as per request by Metrolinx.

Also general lack of political will to fast track this project.

Unacceptable.

But even without the environment assessment was completed they could have started the demolition to save time. Now he busway will only be used for a year before the subway opens
How much are we betting things will open on time?

Also, if they go through with the plan for block signaling (then tearing it out for ATC AFTER the line opens) The busway might still get a decent amount of use later on
