TTC: Other Items (catch all)

I guess there's a difference between an extension, that has to use the same technology, and a brand new line where any possibility can be explored.
Not necessarily. Recall the Tories 1970s and early 1980s plans to extend Line 2 in both directions, using a different technology. SRT strikes back!

This reeks of the SRT all over again. The TTC wanted to run streetcars in Scarborough hence the Kennedy Station Loop. The province then seized the opportunity to showcase a Made in Ontario solution, the Mark I cars made by UTDC.

They SRT had a completely different design originally but the switch to LIM trains mandated grade separation hence the pylons and guideway.

Everyone knows how well that ended...

TTC operators are wearing protest t-shirts today.

From link.

The second letter from March 26th.

The inability to get things right in official letters signed by the DM on basic matters - to the point of requiring another follow up letter is certainly confidence inspiring stuff.
It is stunning. Michael Lindsay must be completely ignorant about transit in Toronto if he thought the 3-station project that has been floating around for much of the decade terminated at Scarborough Centre.

Where did they find this clown? It's not like it's just a typo, it was spelled out very clearly in his first letter ... no one is that incompetent!

Or that it is calculated to generate "costs doubling" headlines - which appears to be partially successful (e.g. Globe - Future subways for Toronto will cost more than expected, letters from the province indicate).

Still trying to translate "a different technology for the project" for the Relief Line? Do they mean LRT or ATC?

At this point I am not sure if there is even any points in guessing - the province doesn't look particularly keen to share details until it's a fait accompli (Confidentiality clauses, etc)

Something's being lost somewhere in the QP loop. This could be another 'Verster moment'. The question is whether they kill them before implanting the Con Worm into their ears to eat into the cranial cavity.

The man is well accomplished, in fact, I'm a bit surprised as to how availed he is of leading tech methods:

Let me make a wild guess, and this is a bit troubling in itself: He did put his signature to those 'letters'...but he didn't write them. He isn't there to do that. He's there to offer a private solution to the many woes of Ontario transit, especially Toronto's.

Speaking of tech, this forum's on-page software is buggy as fug. I'll try and add more later.

Ford did want one in the Portlands.

Perhaps he is compensating for his own issues?
Ford is out of the loop on this. He's just the plastic inflatable that Fedeli (Wormtongue) carries around with him. Lindsay is probably saying cogent things, but cogent is only as good as not having idiots parlay it in their own 'speak'.
