TTC: Other Items (catch all)

Did they remove the Yo?

No, there's a person standing right in front of it so it's not visible in the photo. Unless you zoom in a bit:

Really? I've been on every single GO line and have never not heard those chimes.

I was just on one on Lakeshore West, complete with the plastic/vinyl seats and orange walls. I think it was car 2004.

It's about time they put in the new tiles. It's been years since they were taken down. They finally complete the station work. Is it just me or is the top a bit too low. You can seem bit of concrete wall showing just above the top of the tiles. Very amateurish job.

Does anyone know why it took years to put the tiles on?

I really don't like the new tiles. They look poorly made and lazily designed. I honestly liked the bare walls better. At least that could be passed off as rustic or something.

The TTC really needs a better way to communicate service alerts on their front page. Simply stating that there are "There are 20 alerts currently affecting TTC service. Find out more." is far less useful than it should be. Some simple tweaks would make it much easier to determine whether or not there is an alert that affects you.

GO breaks train delays down by line, bus disruptions are listed in numerical order, and elevators are a separate list. Pretty similar approach by TfL in London.

Here in Amsterdam, they have all routes listed on their front page and the route is coloured blue is there is any sort of a disruption: http://www.gvb.nl/

Next train real time arrival times are now on the TTC website. This is awesome!

I just tweeted them a few weeks ago suggesting NextBus real time arrival for subways, and they said there were no plans at this time.

This is easily the fastest they've gone from suggestion to implementation!

There's been arrival time for subways on http://www.ttc.ca/ for weeks already. We were discussing it in another thread, trying to decide how realistic they were. Sounds more like left-hand and right-hand then quick implementation.

Really? I know before it displayed SCHEDULED arrival times, but now it is showing them in REAL TIME with the wireless symbol next to the time.
