TTC: Flexity Streetcars Testing & Delivery (Bombardier)

The TTC website never mentions anything about LFLRV deliveries.

I think it's best if we stop the tracking of these streetcars. It's going to be a LONG ROAD from here on out, given the joke that is the Bombardier delivery rate.

It is long past the time to have any hope of an acceleration of deliveries.

With Presto coming on CLRV's within weeks, I stopped giving a rats ass about tracking the deliveries - much better on my heart this way.

I'm honestly getting to the point where I'm thinking that Bombardier may never figure out how to build these streetcars faster

I know technology and manufacturing has changed and all that, but this same factory somehow managed to send us 100 Peter Witt cars in 30 days back in 1921. And that was with a lot of manual construction work.

The Peter Witts were built in the CC&F factory in Montreal, not from Thunder Bay.

Also, that's a pretty ignorant comparison. The level of complexity between what was basically a hallow steel box plumbed with 200 feet of air hose and 3 wires and a modern device like an LRT car is akin to comparing a lightbulb with a computer.

Maybe we shoulda ordered the hollow steel boxes with 200 feet of air hose and 3 wires. We'd probably have them by now and they'd run just as well! The KISS principle and all.

Anyone know the status of 4401 and 4402?
4402 went back to Thunder Bay in June for modifications. It was originally supposed to be back in October, but all bets are off. https://twitter.com/StreetcarTO/status/609367692492062720

4401 is being used by TTC for testing and training. It was the first streetcar to travel down Leslie to the new yard on September 21st. See https://twitter.com/bradTTC/status/645973390889721856 and https://twitter.com/bradTTC/status/648471920610971648

4401 will eventually go back to Thunder Bay for modifications.

Saw 4400, 4403, 4404, 4405 & 4410 on Spadina with most short turning at King

Saw the first 3 pack and things to see in 2016 if we get the cars. At the rate of delivery, we will still be getting the original order as we have to replace the new ones.
