Brad Ross just mentioned that 4405 will be coming into service next week.
Good news.
Is it possible that we could see *3* LFLRV's in service at any given time? So far this has been too much for the TTC to handle.

I've checked http://doconnor.homeip.net/TransSee/FleetFind.php?a=ttc&lowrange=4400&highrange=4444&ok=Go many a time and see 4400, 4403, and 4404 in service. Only 2 right now ...
With the 18% spares, they would need 2 spares. So 14 streetcars. While 12 new low-floor streetcars is the target number for the 510 Spadina, they'll need spares in the carbarns for maintenance, cleaning, collisions, vandalism, etc..

If the new schedule holds, they should hit 14 by end of July. So hopefully Spadina will be converted for Pan Am Games.
Assuming they ramp up from 2 to 4 in October we should be at about 30 by year end, and 78 by end of 2016. That would put them ahead of the previous schedule, which only called for 71 by the end of 2016. 204 by mid-2019 and 264 by Fall 2020.
So hopefully the extra 60 cars is in next years budget!
To some extent initally perhaps. They'll still to do repairs, maintenance, and training.More likely the CLRV or ALRV streetcars would be used as the "spares", once they get up to 12.
You'd hope so ... particularly for the Parapan games in August. They are supposed to need 17 for full conversion of 509/511 with no spares. They could be close - particularly off-peak when many of the events will be. But then where there is an event at the Ex, they tend to add extra vehicles.Thought that for the Pan Am games, the low-floor streetcars would have be switched over to the 511/509 routes.
Seems to be back to 2 Flexities on Spadina today. Where is 4403?

They still want the extra 60 BUT do not need to order them until the 60th new streetcar arrives here so it does not need to be done for another year.Is the Commission still trying to get Council to approve the additional 60 cars? I thought (assumed) they gave up on that when they budgeted for the ALRV refurbishment.
So now the number on the front is white ...
The number on the front of 4405 was black when it arrived a few weeks ago. Now it is white. It has been since 4400 and 4403 were formally accepted and entered service.
