Toronto's Limited Waterfront Dining

Wee Pep'rJack's first job ever, at age 14, was in the kitchen at a Mother's in suburban Ottawa. The thrill of a FREE personal-size pizza at the end of every shift seemed a mind-bogglingly generous perk.

I remember Mother's too. There was one on Queen St in Brampton, just west of Bramalea Rd on the south side. The building is still there and houses some other restaurant.

I remember another Italian-esque chain called "Frank Vateers" as well.

I agree, and a kick-ass building to boot!

Yes, public building in Burlington has been of very high quality: the Waterfront Centre, the new Library, City Hall, the Art Centre and the new pier currentlybeing built. There has also been a tremendous amount of streetscaping and paving done which is all very beautiful. Unfortunately private development has not been keeping the same standards. The many new condos that are springing up downtown are fairly banal, though at least they add density. A McMaster campus and a performing arts centre are planned to start soon, keeping fingers crossed the quality will be as good as other projects.
