My biggest gripe is that the retail area is once again planned to be an endless glass wall, coming off the endless glass wall next door.

It would not be a crime for architects to bring down some of the brick and pattern styles to the street level where most pedestrians actually experience buildings.
It's also a pretty shallow retail space, which means either small units, or wide frontages. Room for improvement.
