I hope the residents of QUAD just to the north of this don't manage to derail this like they did with the earlier proposal.
The current proposal by Blvd. Developments is for a 39-metre high condominium building in this infill space known as 478 (or 480) King West.
I understand that there's been no formal application to the City for consents and variances as yet. But I've spoken with three neighbours who are in the Quad 2 condo immediately north of this property.
Their concerns seem to be mostly that the proposed building will block views and natural light that they currently enjoy, has a minimal setback from their building (ie, on the north side), and that the design as proposed is of a modern steel-and-glass construction which would detract from the historical nature of the existing nearby structures.
On balance, I think I might also have some concerns.
