I wonder if it would eventually be possible to convert it into a spanish solution, though I'm not sure it would ever be necessary at Union.

Anything is possible, but considering that the station box abuts against the foundation of the Royal York Hotel, it would be hugely expensive.

Got my own glimpse this evening coming home from the island airport. Looks like they still need to pour the new platform edge, but it's coming together!

Hmm I'll have to take a look tomorrow then. I only looked at the main entrance wall with all the doors to the subway station and it wasn't there, so I was a bit confused.
 
Yonge station needs this on the Bloor Line, especially since it would force half the passengers to go further down to start off with.
