Contract is expected to start on date of award or and end in the second quarter of 2025.
Do we know if it will be done second quarter of fiscal 2025 or calendar 2025? Must be calendar 2025 right as Fiscal 2025 would be from April 1 2024 to March 31, 2025 meaning in the past (Sept 30 2024)??

So if calendar 2025, we are looking at a June 30th 2025 completion?

Couple of photos from this morning of the enhancement project.

I was actually thinking they were going rather slowly but will wait to see some more photos (or will wander over to look myself) before complaining!
Agreed, based on snapshots of my memory this looks unchanged all summer. I expected to at least see some floors or columns in the works.

If nobody beats me to it, I will probably get a couple shots from CIBC square tomorrow.

Not to mention the fact that Union Station has been under construction in some form or another for the last 15 years...

I feel like Union is now big enough that there will always be construction in one form or another. The big stations in Japan for example are always being improved or expanded in some way.

After USEP there’s still:
1. Platform rearrangement + electrification (hopefully)
2. Streetcar station expansion
3. Potentially HFR stuff which could be anything from small platform upgrades to a massive expansion of the station somewhere
4. New east and west elevated bridges over the platforms

The USEP project is pretty good when you look back at how disruptive the revitalisation project renovations were. Barely anything on the public side has been impacted in the enhancement project.

That's really because the earlier work was happening in major (public) areas of the station so 'the public' was constantly exposed to it and there were constant diversions around work areas. The work going on now is, largely, in unused or little used areas of the station so has been happening with little direct impact on ordinary people.

Hit the nail on the head, it’s a pretty great project because it impacts barely anything but will add so much when it’s done.
The only thing really affected by the USEP project was the Telus ramp… and I don’t think anyone misses that:

Missed might be too strong a word, certainly it was anything but aesthetically pleasing..........

But...it was somewhat convenient.

Often when I'm done my downtown errands or photo-walks, if I'm near Union, I finish my trip by ducking down to Longos for some grocery, then head home.

That entrance was more convenient for me than having to walk through the arena corridor, especially if there's a game or concert soon to start.

I agree that the ramp had its advantages. I assume (correctly?) that when the new south concourse opens there will be access to Union from the south in that area or closer to York St.
