1. Has anyone used the City-run elevators in the building recently and has wayfinding been upgraded around [or inside, next to the button panels] any of them? I'm particularly interested in the lift that is located just off the Great Hall linking the East Wing and subway level via the Bay Concourse.
2. Are there rotating art installation areas other than the Great Hall hoarding and the West Wing? Anything in the York or Bay Concourses ... and what about the side channels of the VIA Concourse, or are the vitrines in the latter area all dedicated to historic displays?
Cheers.

Off topic but it's pathetic a bunch of the elevators have been broken for over 10 years. I remember last year I didn't even know what floors the foodcourt one went to because they weren't listed easily Like 1L and 1 as the floors

Freshly Squeezed/Cheesecake factory is almost ready to open, that was quick:

Anyone have a favourite restaurant in Union that stands out to them? I remember walking through the concourse and seeing restaurants everywhere and always thought it was odd, but at the same time have never stopped to experience one. I'm not picky with food, so I'd love to hear some suggestions.

My go-tos at Union seem to be Roywoods, Kibo, and Butter Chicken Roti.

MightyBird. Pretty much go there almost every time I'm going through Union.

Alas, not so far, but I'm curious too as I haven't yet tried everything & don't commute so need an excuse to go there. Having said that, of those that I've tried, Kibo & Shanghai 360 have not disappointed me, while Paramount did (taste was fine, but amount for the price was not great).

I second @APTA-2048 's nomination of Roywoods.

Good quality, good quantity. Nice level of spice too!

Have you tried the Puff Pastry snacks from Desi? They aren't world beating, but the pastry is pretty good, a bit more filling would be nice, at $3.99ea they're a very good snack value.

Union Station Track Slab Investigation Work Moves to Street Level

While work continues on the new South Concourse, track slab and bridge structure assessment investigation work within Union Station will soon move into public accessible areas over the next several months as part of the growing GO Expansion Construction efforts. In coming weeks GO Transit customers and members of the public will see construction impacting the Bay and York Street Teamways and Bay and York Street pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
As of July 22, and on a sequential basis, until the end of November, passage within the Bay and York Street Teamways will be narrowed as underside track slab investigation commences. Pedestrians utilizing the Teamways between 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. will notice barricades surrounding nightly active investigative work. Although the Teamways will remain open at this time, there will be spotters on hand to ensure that work areas and pedestrian passageways remain safe at all times.
Following the Teamway work late this summer, crews will be moving to Bay and York Streets to conduct underside track slab and bridge structure assessment investigations. This work will sequentially close one side of Bay or York Streets to pedestrian and vehicular traffic at a time, while two-way pedestrian and vehicular traffic will remain operational on the remaining open side. Directional signage will be mounted, and spotters will be on hand to further assist pedestrians. We request and appreciate your ongoing patience, understanding and cooperation surrounding this needed work as we continue to bring the necessary service enhancements to Union Station as part of our greater GO Expansion master plan.
Should you have any questions, please reach out to TorontoEast@Metrolinx.com . For more information, click here to visit the GO Transit website alert.

I popped into the new shopping area for the first time last night - around 10 pm, hoping to grab some milk, so I didn't have to run out when I got home. I had about 10-minute to change trains, so I thought it would work well.

And everything was closed other than the food fair! Which seems odd, given that Union station was very busy - as usual.

I couldn't see hours posted anywhere. When is the mall usually open?

Union Station, to my knowledge, doesn't impose minimum hours; or at least not a great deal, their website says 'retailer hours may vary'.

The LCBO is probably a safe'ish choice for minimum hours:

Sephora is open earlier, but also closes at 8pm on weekdays and Saturday, while going to 7pm on Sunday.
