Toronto has the weirdest -- often grotesque -- public art around, and this 20-year boom has added so many great new examples.

Yeah, it was not a criticism from me! I was just surprised that no one was talking about it even though it was clearly bananas.

I'm more in favour of odd-looking art generating feelings in passerby than of some broken abstract shape symbolizing nothing.

I like it because it uses a lot of fantasy/surreal elements...so it's right up my alley. I suspect that because it's all painted/galvanized in silver is what's throwing some here.

It's also an uncanny human figure - distorted human figures are what nightmares are made of.

I like public art that aims to tell a story and invites viewings from different angles. What I've seen so far is intriguing - I'll have to check it out in person!

I quite like the art piece here as well.

One sculpture that I really didnt care for was a metal tree in place of a natural tree. I can't recall exactly where it was.

...it is my sincere hope that when you go down yourself to check out that answer..that you'll post pics of all the delicious eateries you'll visit to delight the imagination of my taste palette. /drools

The Indigo is not open but there is visible progress. The scaffolding underneath the bridges in the atrium are going to come down soon as the wood finish is done. Nice touch. I also stopped at Café blu blu on my way down and had a phenomenal French toast. Is Bathurst the next Ossington? Lol! Taken 14 October.
