At a more practical level - it added a significant amount of housing to a fairly dead zone of the city, protected the existing office uses and upgraded a fairly sub-par subway entrance. The only loss is probably the original architectural features - which was falling apart anyways. The end product - while not super exciting, was certainly not awful. No complaints from me.

Are there any pics of the new subway entrance? Is that open yet?
 
The only thing that's really a big miss with this development are the balcony cladding, it's really a lost opportunity.
