Toronto Sugar Wharf Condominiums (Phase 2) | 283.6m | 85s | Menkes | a—A

Every one of the hundreds of towers to break ground in Toronto in the past two decades has been built. Even a Cresford bankruptcy didn't leave their sites in peril for very long. The One continues rising too. What is happening here is novel for the city. It's better than the graffiti towers in LA; the leaning tower in New York; the topped out megatall tower in Tianjin.

Now it's time for another 3-4 months of silence before they randomly return again for their quarterly moving dirt ceremonies.

Which ones are you referring to??
1. Graffiti Towers in LA: Oceanwide Plaza.
It is an unfinished residential and retail complex composed of three towers in downtown Los Angeles, California, across the street from Crypto.com Arena and the Los Angeles Convention Center. The complex, designed by CallisonRTKL, is owned by the Beijing-based developer Oceanwide Holdings. Wikipedia

2. Leaning Tower in New York. 161 Maiden Lane.
(also known as One Seaport, 1 Seaport, or Seaport Residences) is an incomplete 670 ft (205 m) tall residential skyscraper on Maiden Lane in the Financial District of Manahatten, New York City, United States. Designed by Hill West Architects, the building overlooks the East River and topped out in September 2018. The building leans 3 inches (76 mm) to the north as a result of the method used to construct its foundation: instead of using the piling method like other neighboring skyscrapers, soil improvement methods were used where chemicals or other material are added to the soil to strengthen it. As of 2024, only half of the finishes, including windows, have been installed. Wikipedia.

3. Topped Out Megatall Tower in Tianjin. Goldin Finance 117.
Also known as China 117 Tower, is a supertall unfinished skyscraper in Xiqing District, Tianjin, China. The tower was topped out in 2015 at a height of 597 m. It has 128 storeys above ground, with 117 of them housing, hotel, and commercial space, which provides the source of the building’s name. Wikipedia

...I don't think this project will be as bad as that. Just likely slower in coming to fruition...and for what that's worth.

It’s gone now.

Can you spot the excavator?
Here’s the catch: there is no excavator…
It’s gone!

This one hasn’t even broke ground yet. So the situation is definitely not like those ones.

See you all in 3-4 months!

Question is: Is this being used as a parking lot or is 'something afoot?
Well it's definitely not related to Phase 2 of the development since Menkes hasnt even started selling here, and it cant be for a sales office because a crane wouldnt be needed and Menkes would likely use one of their vacant units in Phase 1 for that.
