25 October 2009 photo update

I found myself on Royal Windsor Drive (not very regal at all, infact quite dreary) in Miss the other day staring at something very strange: an attractive 905 condo development!

I think the area can easily handle another 1000 buildings just like this one judging by...:

Traffic lights been install for not only the entrance to the building, but also for GO parking lot. At the same time, lights are been added for the bus terminal and that long over due.

So much for the fall 2009 move in date.

The first group of owners are to start to move in this months, but still a fair amount of work to be done yet. Maybe ready when phase II starts.

From yesterday...I like how this turned out..the workmanship is pretty good. The location is not bad being that it's next to a Go station, there's plenty of shopping just down street and Clarkson Village is nearby along with a great number of some fine waterfront parks along lakeshore towards Port Credit. Phase II is now in sales...West on Lakeshore towards Winston Churchill is ripe for high density development...

Stonebrook Condominiums have not figured very highly on UT's radar as the site is tucked away in southwestern Mississauga, Clarkson to be specific, an area we don't normally focus our attention on. A first 18-storey tower, located beside the Sheridan Creek on Southdown Road at Lakeshore Road West, and across the street from Clarkson GO station, was completed recently by developer United Lands and is occupying now. The simple and handsome modernist structure features large windows framed by aluminum mullions, with stripes of precast concrete used sparingly to create a gridded framework on the facade.

The site, however, is big enough for two, so Stonebrook I will soon be joined by its twin Stonebrook II, designed by the late Dietrich Boecker in collaboration with award-winning du Toit Architects and RH Rust Architects.

Excavation for phase II's parking garage has already taken place.

The sales centre for the second tower is now open in the first tower, and it features two model suites appointed by Bryon Patton and Sean Swayze of Bryon Patton and Associates.

The Lakeshore, at 803 square feet, is the smaller of the two, is a one bedroom, and has been kitted out to appeal to younger buyers.

The Lorne Park is a large 1445 square foot model, with two bedrooms and a den, which has been furnished to appeal to more mature buyers.

Residents of Stonebrook will have access to plenty of amenities, including a library lounge, party room, theatre and billiards rooms, outdoor terraces overlooking Sheridan Creek, spa-inspired pool, exercise/weight training/yoga room, saunas, and lockers with bicycle storage. Clarkson Village shopping area is within walking distance, while the Waterfront Trail and several notable lakeshore parks are close by, and downtown Toronto is a scant 19 minutes away by GO train. Not so bad for a corner of Mississauga we don't normally venture into.

I just booked in phase 2 of this development, cause I liked the simplicity and GO train (work DT.) Wish I'd know about Phase 1 4 years ago though I didn't have any money then.
Oh well:)
Anyone else out there thinking of phase 2? or am I just a voice in the wilderness??

^Congrats on your purchase, I think you made a good decision...it's an up and coming area plus you are walking distance to Clarkson Village, biking distance to some great waterfront parks and 10 minutes, by car or transit, to Port Credit or the village of Oakville.

the quality and workmanship of the first building looks really good. I looked at the prices as well before and it's really good bang for your buck since the commute will be ~18 minutes to downtown TO since your're right next to the GO.

I think Phase 2 has a more appropriate colour scheme. Beige and light blue splits it two opposite directions TBH.
