Nice! That's a super clear image from the island. Nice panorama too. Is that Gooderam's to the left? I believe I also see the Toronto Flatiron Bldg., Board of Trade Bldg. and old Union Station?

Taken from Chester Hill Lookout, great view of the Skyline(Downtown, Y&E, Yonge and St.Clair

The neat thing about shooting from the lookout is that there are a lot of apartment buildings close to the valley that give the skyline a whole lot of perceived density.

Yea, seeing those buildings at the time made me wonder about how the city planning system worked (I doubt it was very much in the 60's-70's). I also wondered how the devopers(or builders?) at the time woul've advertised these units, which by now must be aloot more valuable.

Heres a much better shot of what kotsy meant, from the CNtower to Aura and a bit after, alot of Residential Density is hugging the edge of the Valley, would not be surprised if some of those towers are now converted to Condos.

Heres a much better shot of what kotsy meant, from the CNtower to Aura and a bit after, alot of Residential Density is hugging the edge of the Valley, would not be surprised if some of those towers are now converted to Condos.

The St. James Town towers are never likely to be converted into condos as the City of Toronto demands that the developer replace any residential rental unit that's removed from the market with similar new units.

This is a few metres north of Gerrard, on the East Chinatown stretch. Pape Ave becomes an elevated walkway, before becoming a road again, due to a railway cutting through the area. I guess a couple years ago, some people made a hole in the protective chainlink guard looking toward Downtown, hence the now well known view.

EDIT: I walked here from Yonge, and it's not that bad of a walk,
Aura looks nice from a far ways.
