Anyone hear anything about Cheesecake factory opening at sherway?. There's been rumblings from inside sources that it is in the works.

I have a friend who knows the owners of the one in Buffalo and she said the company has no plans to come to Toronto. I had heard that there was going to be one opening in Yorkdale but that proved to be false.

The Keg is rumored to be the steak house shown in the concepts. They are opening one at, or near, Sherway Gardens.

they sure lost a lot of parking lot for this construction.

I just wish this expansion would meet the street (The Queensway) in an urban way...*sigh*

Nice to see there are still some of those 70's globe lamps outside though! They remind me of Ontario Place.

I'm happy it's not. The Queensway is an avenue around here and the current plans leave plenty of space for mid-rise, street-fronting intensification.

You don't want the mall to meet the street in an urban way? Why not? Do you think they will butcher it someway? Can't be any worse than it is now unless they do a Fairway and build a massive parking garage around the mall.

They are installing new lights in the ceiling which is why they have the platform in that one stretch of the mall. Also noticed one of the cranes rising this mornin while driving to work.

Read the entire post, not just the first sentence. The Queensway is an Avenue here. I would much prefer a set of mid-rises at 6-15 stories over a 2-3 story mall.

Yes and a whole new ceiling treatment. They had a test section setup (I think was just outside IZOD) with 4 variations of ceiling and lighting treatments. The pillars hold up the platform not the ceiling, and that way they can work above without closing sections of the mall. They are working concurrently on at least two sections currently.

This seems very odd. ... my pictures don't appear on my screen when i'm not logged in..... However they do appear only after i log in..... are they not loading for everyone else?...... does anyone else have to click on the "img_20130302_121544.jpg" name to make the picture appear?..... i hope not.... seem strange i have to log in to see my own pictures....
i wonder if this happens to anyone else who posts pics...... do they have to log in to see their own posted pictures.?

They all show up whether I'm logged in or not. Must just be because of the posting system. Noticed they have three cranes up as of today.
