Also may be related to the brownfield condition of these lands -- I understand there's only a thin layer of fill on top of some land that's seen some serious industrial activity. Best not to dig down too far.

That may be true further west (nearer Cherry) but where RC is being built and further east the land was excavated and then refilled (to a higher level) with clay (to waterproof the berm) and then topped with regular soil.

RC3 is getting some verticality to it. Rising above Eastern Ave. Also does anyone know what the new support structures are? For balconies perhaps, although I don't see them in any renderings.

From today. I can't quite tell from the renderings what this side of the building will look like. But it seems like part of it might be just blank concrete walls. Which would be a shame given its prominence from this angle.
