Toronto Music City’s first proposed project, in partnership with The Daniels Corporation, ‎is a 100-unit affordable housing co-op + music hub in Regent Park, located at the south east corner of Dundas St E and Sumach St.

This development is conceived as a safe space where musicians can learn, live, work and play.

Our vision for a ‘music hub’ is centered on musicians’ career and professional development, S.T.E.A.M-based educational programming, and personal growth. The hub design includes 10,000 sq. ft. of office space available to music industry and non-profit community partners, and 12,000 sq. ft. of soundproofed recording and rehearsal spaces, including a film/TV editing suite. The recording and rehearsal space is designed to be semi-public: open to all ‘Music City Co-op’ tenants, and also by invitation to their friends, collaborators and industry partners. The facilities will be operated on a long-term lease to Toronto Music City and its industry/community partners.

The Sumach Street reference on their website is now obsolete, as they were not able to secure financing in time to have Music City Toronto be a part of the Block 16S project. It will now be (assuming they manage to get the financing together this time) one block further east on Block 17S at Dundas and River.

? there is a lot of different colours and materials in Regent Park. One Cole uses a lot of brick, as does the latest TCHC building. Bartholomew uses beige brick extensively, and one park place uses bright splashes of red brick on its podium contrasting with the stark white towers. There is a lot of colour in Regent Park, it isn't exactly cityplace.

"Tower" was the key word. Not podium, or midrise.
 
Paintbox also has a rich ironspot brick on the first four floors, coloured aluminum spandrel above that, and it has the coloured lights up top at night. Add in One Park Place's bright white condos, and what @innsertnamehere listed, and Regent Park isn't so bad when it comes to variation.

I hope they improve the variation along Parliament. The two mid rises past the fresh-co building are hideous.
 
Don't we all love brick or stone ! It should always be incorporated in some form on each building. It's part of Toronto's historical DNA fabric and we should embrace more of it. Even though it's a little more time consuming !

Certainly not bad by any means. Daniels is doing a great job. I'm just glad to see some of that colour go skyward (not counting the white towers at 1PP, which are wonderful but not particularly colourful).
 
The ad says that the tower is at the southeast corner of Dundas and River. That's a major screw-up:
