Toronto Music City’s first proposed project, in partnership with The Daniels Corporation, is a 100-unit affordable housing co-op + music hub in Regent Park, located at the south east corner of Dundas St E and Sumach St.
This development is conceived as a safe space where musicians can learn, live, work and play.
Our vision for a ‘music hub’ is centered on musicians’ career and professional development, S.T.E.A.M-based educational programming, and personal growth. The hub design includes 10,000 sq. ft. of office space available to music industry and non-profit community partners, and 12,000 sq. ft. of soundproofed recording and rehearsal spaces, including a film/TV editing suite. The recording and rehearsal space is designed to be semi-public: open to all ‘Music City Co-op’ tenants, and also by invitation to their friends, collaborators and industry partners. The facilities will be operated on a long-term lease to Toronto Music City and its industry/community partners.
