Now lets look at some deets:

...is that sky bridge even structurally possible? Goodness.

Good Question.

One would hope so; but the renders certainly might leave one wondering how.

So I went looking....

Here's the elevation drawing that I think it indicative on that point:

It suggests to me that they are going to structurally support it through the existing rental building on site. To my understanding, the renos in that building are done, so I'm not clear on whether they renovated that building w/this in mind, or if this was always feasible.

Lets hear from the engineers on the forum shall we.

I was wondering if these two beautiful looking skyscrapers proposed on each side of this renovated tower. Are going to be incorporated into this thread as the main development. Or will it have its own featuring the two towers just a thought.

Here I am wondering what the odds are they turn out anything close to the renders?

It's an open question as far as I'm concerned.

The fact that it's purpose-built rental might give some hope, in that there is less value in flashy renders for rental.

That said, Partisans, which has designed a few really nice offers we've seen here at UT has yet to see any of them go-up.

We're still waiting to see what happens at 15 Elm, 55 Yonge, and 1925 Victoria Park.

I think if we see even one go up unmolested that will increase hopes; until then, let's stay positive but with a healthy skepticism.

The new renderings are updated in the database. The storey count changed from 15 & 7 storey to 49 & 47 storey. Height changed from 49.40m & 26.60m to 157.00 & 151.00m. Finally, the total unit count increased from 313 units to 863 units.

Rendering is taken from the architectural plan via Rezoning:

Personally I think that the skybridge (as nice as it is), will be the first thing to be value-engineered out of its current form.

I'm waiting for ProjectEnd-san to throw cold water over this...as it all looks too good to be true here. Even with a UT front page entry on it.

Hahahaha, I'll give Adrian a lot of credit in that he gets great results out of his architects. But this is not a buildable concept, and even if it were, Partisans is not a firm capable of delivering it.
