Please explain what is ridiculous about asking if tax dollars are going to build a religious facility?

Just so we're clear, it appears to be a swimming pool. Typically you need to spend more effort establishing a false premise.

The cafe space at The Regent Park Arts Centre.

To all those people calling me nuts it looks like my theory is not so far fetched after-all!

Doing some research - I was surprised to discover that at least two city owned Regent Park TCHC apartment buildings have makeshift Mosque's in their basements complete with wudu facilities for foot washing! Why is this allowed? How is it fair to non-Muslims tenants in these buildings?

TCHC Building - 325 Gerrard Street East

TCHC Building - 260 Summach Street

These above buildings are slated for demolition so perhaps what I am seeing beside the Aquatic centre is a replacement wudu facility? Are similar replacement facilities being incorporated into other the new apartment buildings at Regent Park?

i heard a rumour that the Tim Horton's at Dundas and Parliament is going to be under Sharia Law

I know this is meant to be facetious, but the fact is I have noticed increasingly on Parliament Street that more and more Restaurants are serving Halal meat only (e.g. 2/4/1 Pizza, Sukhothai, Pizza Pizza, to name a few). The Tim Horton's at this location may very well have removed pork items from its menu "out of respect" for the local residents in which case it would be considered Sharia compliant, i.e. governed by Sharia Law.

Really?

A soccer field would make sense there - although perhaps Peepers would advocate a balseball diamond.

Had you taken the time to actually read the blog posts you linked above, you would have noticed that these makeshift mosques wisely use otherwise-neglected space in the basements of older rental buildings (as greenleaf notes). Would you prefer to leave them deserted and dangerous out of respect for...(who?)?

But they haven't, so it's not.

Sharia compliant ≠ governed by Sharia Law. That's an unbelievably shallow understanding of a restaurant simply trying to make sure that the food they serve can be eaten by the people that live in the area. I'm kind of dumbfounded by the extent of bigotry on display here. Peepers, why not go nuts on kosher food next? That must have you running scared along Bathurst north.

Peepers,

To my knowledge, it isn't the first time you've posted ridiculous conspiracy theories with regards to Muslims. Please re-acquaint yourself with forum rules. This is your last warning.
