It seems like the case. The footprint of Oneeleven is rather shallow from the side so it looks like they are digging part of the Musée site in the process.
Why go through the effort and cost of shoring the east side of the property when that side is going to be excavated anyways?
I'm guessing Harhay and Plaza worked out an agreement, as Harhay was using part of Plaza's site for staging during demolition and excavation and Plaza seemed to time the dismantling of their sales centre when the excavation of Oneeleven is almost down to its last level. It makes sense.

Yes, it will be one big pit. The developers here have been coordinating much of the urban design work here as well as construction staging. Adam Vaughan wanted them to look on this block as a whole to get something better in the end.
