Lets move the Sam's sign and all of the artifacts from Guildwood Park over to Chorley Park. We could call it "Can't believe we demolished that Park".
Retail at MYC would be good, but I can't complain given the previous street level presence. Can't deny that something jogger/cyclist oriented would have been a hit but besides the trail, the pedestrian activity on that stretch is minimal.

What about we move it all Casa Loma for the Museum of Toronto? Sam's records, Honest Ed's signs, Rob Ford's weight challenge scale (there will be a whole wing covering him showing all the videos), and anything else demolished for starchitect buildings in the future could move there. It could have a whole wing for cancelled transit plans, with SRT & CLRV vehicles that you can go into and explore. It could have one part showing all the scenes in movies filmed in Toronto. It could also have a Drake wing & Scott Pilgrim wing. They could stage re-enactments of the battle of Montgomery's Tavern at Yonge & Eg in the summer.

(obviously kidding, although a real Museum of Toronto could be cool)

You think? What is unusual about this besides Rap-around glass balconies?
I think CRESFORD is overdoing this Glass-raparound boxes all over the city without being checked. This is a CHEAP form of architecture without any effort to design something expensive.
And all those forumners loving this type of BOXES like CASA I, II, III are not doing the city a favour.

As one of those "forumners" who likes some of those new glass boxes (including this one), what did you have in mind?

Frankly, I kinda like my cheap, nasty and architecturally meritless balcony glass. It does double-duty as both a barrier and as a route for light to get into my place.

This is what I have in mind..... and frankly, someone needs to design something like this taller in the city.

I think the majority of forums make such a comment (like was done above) nothing knowing at all about the area in question ..

This area is nearly 100% full of brick (red / black / grey) along with typical rentals from the 60s/70s ... that is, there are no nearby all glass buildings .. so the contrast is actually very much appreciated in this area.

Glass box is cheaper and I don't think that building would look all that great at say 20,30 storeys

Yup. Pretty much this.

This building is lovely to see while driving down Yonge St. or looking out the windows from the passing subways.

I'm OK with this building, but I personally would prefer more interesting architecture than glass wrap-around balconies around boxes, especially in prominent locations along Yonge.
