Gosh there really is a monotony in all the heights for the condos in the Entertainment District isn't there? Would have been nice to allow some of these a bit more breathing room up high...

That is an old pic. The variety of high rises is a tad more varied now with Picasso, Tableau, Gloss coming, etc.

It doesn't really work that way. If one property were allowed to go tall, the table top would only get raised as everyone would assume that they also 'get' that height.

Which, at this point, they really should allow. Then half the buildings would be 150 meters, and half would be taller. It would at least result in some visual interest.

Maybe Mirvish-Gehry will result in a crop of 300 meter condos in the area... (assuming the new LPAT would allow it)

There have been a few approvals above 157m now, following Mirvish. 19 Duncan is 186m. Of course Mirvish itself is going to be huge in reducing the "monotony".
