Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

...yeah, it would be so much easier to write the letter "S" like this: "/" 😼

PortsToronto has published the next six weeks of the traffic accessibility across the Cherry St bascule bridge. At that point (August 16), it should be permanently re-opened.

Well, will you look at this.

With no fanfare at all, the Don River has been connected through the new Lower Don Lands out to Lake Ontario.

It's official!

Yes, this was clearly happening from earlier photos. I understand that there will be a ceremony of some sort tomorrow (Monday).

This is a clip from a @skycandy shot from last Tuesday.

Seeing the north plug finally opened like that is great but, I can't help but think about all those active CSO's in the Don and the harbour and how despite all this wonderful and extremely important flood protection for the area we will still potentially see poop floating down our lovely new river valley. At least until the Coxwell Bypass Tunnels and all related sewage treatment infrastructure at Ashbridges Bay is totally completed.. in about 11 more years.

Thanks for 💩ing on the parade.

But it's true I guess :-(.

Wonder what colour future drone shots will reveal of the new river.... compared to all those pristine aerials we've seen so far.
