Toronto Lower Don Lands Redevelopment | ?m | ?s | Waterfront Toronto

It's often been a fantasy of mine to take a pleasure craft along the whole length of Trent-Severn. I know parts of it, but would thoroughly enjoy trying out the long circuitous route. Not sure how long it would take or the lock fees.

Re: cruise ships in TO. Was 1-2 Summers ago that I was at Cherry Beach when a large cruise ship arrived. Was an awesome sight to see. Obviously it's not one of those mammoth cruise ships we're used to seeing in media, but it was definitely larger than anything I've seen here before. Certainly not a harbour party boat. German tourists were chatting with people through the fence.

River cruises in Europe are a fine way to see the countries and cities in Europe, without having to change hotels.

Would be nice to see a lake cruise here. However here, one would require to carry a passport to see different cities on both sides of the lakes. In Europe, once you get in, you can leave the passport in the safe on board.

There was an update on Port Lands Flood Protection at the April 18 Waterfront Toronto Design Review Panel but materials have yet to be posted.

My biggest disappointment with these plans is the incredibly width of the ROWs. Fee(l)s incredibly suburban. Why are there turn lanes here? Seems like it will create another cold and inhospitable public realm similar to the Wes Don lands.
Glad it's not just me who fails to see the 'Emperor's Clothes' on the West Don Lands. It's a ghetto in the making. It was more inviting when it was an industrial waste-land, albeit many excellent artists had space down there, now gone, most left the city. It's a chore to even cycle through it, let alone spend any time there.

I'll believe Nirvana when it's extant.
