Toronto Kipling Station Condos | 159.6m | 50s | CentreCourt | B+H

November 2. The crane operator better be careful. Those hydro wires are a PITA.

I've always thought it's crazy to build a high-rise to this degree immediately adjacent to a hydro corridor.

Is there anywhere in the city where we have a tower so close to a high-voltage power line? I cant think of any place that comes to mind.

Never stopped to measure but, there are high rises built next to corridors all over Toronto.

Follow the Finch corridor

Are 50 storey apartment towers clusters as appealing as low and mid rise multi-family?
Then dense suburban residential skyscraper clusters that only have one supporting argument being a higher transit station/hub.

Nice finds, I was generally curious to see if anything like it existed in the city, and it appears we do.

I'm 90% confident that this development would be the tallest building that's immediately adjacent to a hydro corridor in the city proper once it's completed.

Crane is going up on Saturday. Condos in the area received notice from Centre Court that Aukland will be closed during the day during the install.

Pictures taken last Sunday.

Here's my contribution from 20 minutes ago...I forgot how depressing this area can be on an overcast, rainy day.
Well I mean to be fair, 90% of Toronto brings the exact same feeling on an overcast rainy day.

I will say though that i'd never thought i'd see the day where a condo would be built on this site, it's quite the small parcel of land.

That’s what I thought as well, I wonder if this’ll turn into another skyscraper cluster like north York one day 👀

I hope Etobicoke City Centre turns in to even half of what NYCC is today (not to say NYCC is amazing per se but it certainly has it's pros). For one it's fairly lively due to all the restaurants in the area; this area on the other hand is not even close to that and is a ghost town pedestrian wise for pretty much all of the day.

Increased density will change that, but if we keep seeing laughable proposals come forward (ie: Pinnacle's joke of a master plan for Etobicoke, and the Six Points plaza mess of a proposal) than we're in for a lot of trouble.

This project will bring the density, but we need other developers to bring actually useful amenities, retail space and useful park space. You know, not wind-swept useless parks fronting car sewers, or illogically set out plans that back away and act as barriers to major roads.

I wholeheartedly agree, this area could be really nice. There’s just so much empty space around there 🤷‍♂️

Well, I meant moreso the electrical substation and hydro infrastructure right by Kipling. I realize your statement above all the time hehe, esp in more lowrise areas.

Yea! I was shocked too. I thought this would just stay a Starbucks.
