Yes, it certainly looks that way and that may not go down so well since the final approved plan in 2013 was the result of compromises covering the whole block. We shall see!

First Gulf is quickly becoming the East End equivalent of Allied. Allied owns all the west end office space, First Gulf will own all the east end space.

I hope the City insists they widen the sidewalk of Front Street in that part of the block to match the wider sidewalk at the G&M Building,

Shame they're not turning that No Frills parking lot on Front Street into a park. It's going to look especially silly with all the surrounding lots developed.

especially since it has underground parking. Develop the lot and let customers park underground.

And this comes from someone who regularly drives to that No Frills. The surface lot is already so small that I just go straight for the garage anyway, the surface lot is always full.

I'll miss the LCBO, as it's actually a fairly well-stocked location.

Not to mention the Dollarama.... Overall I think the proposal is mundane but the podium might make up for it. Either way, it's amazing how much change is happening in the neighbourhood!
