The office towers stand out. The residential stuff is generally decent if banal. There are no awful 1960s slab apartment towers.

slab buildings don't need to be built in the 1960's to be slabs. slabs are really wide towers, rather than point towers which are generally as wide as they are long.

This is the very definition of a slab:

Only the first shot is actually from North York Centre, and those slabs are on the edges of the neighbourhood. The others are from north of Finch, which isn't NYC. Innsertnamehere actually found a slab, but they're not common.

Fair enough, although the first shot is actually right across from Gibson House which is not exactly the "edge of the neighbourhood". However the slabs are more common than you think, even if many of them are not from the 60s.

correction ... North York Centre as defined by the City of Toronto Official Plan extends from Yonge/401 north to Yonge/Cummer

Refer to this Secondary Plan Schedule:

I'd rather have slabs than a repetition of the same building typology (i.e. point towers) repeated ad nauseum.

I really hope Someone signs a lease for the proposed office building on that corner, it's emptiness is getting to me. Probably my least favourite parking lot in the city.

I agree the parking lot really has to go. At least bring back the old PJ pet store that was there. How many more floors on the west tower before its done?

They have poured the 31st floor slab and columns going up to 32nd. 32nd is the mechanical penthouse floor, then there is a multi elevation roof slab which will be 4 concrete slabs and 1 steel slab.

So basically for the stepping/curved side there is the 32nd slab, roof slab (33rd), and high steel roof. (so 2 concrete and 1 steel remaining)
