From Broadview and Eastern. Taken 8 October.
Are they demolishing the whole complex?
That they are. Pretty horrendous on CF's part and a good indication that this area will not be as interesting as we hoped.
I wonder how much money it would cost to get a unique mural from different artists on every pillar here, or the whole gardiner for that matter. Would probably become a major Toronto landmark if it was that extensive.
It's a huge loss that anchored the site to its history. It could have also provided unique spaces that many in the creative industries pay top dollar to inhabit. Moreover, as someone who has been in the building, it was thoroughly interesting. To be frank, it's a pretty anti-urban attitude to not be able to see its value, especially when there are so many examples, even in our own city of how you could incorporate it, and raise the area's status in the process. There is nothing that interesting about the building. Not a big loss.

It's essentially a guarantee it'll just be boring, glazed, corporate. That they are. Pretty horrendous on CF's part and a good indication that this area will not be as interesting as we hoped.
I just noticed in the photo they have finally started to tear down the TTC building on the right. It was a pain way back trying to phase the site due to lease agreements, but since the whole project had been pushed back it can be free flowing now.View attachment 513474
