I mean - I get that, and that’s why I didn’t make an blanket statement, and my initial sentence was “ they are truly s***** places to walk around when you have young children.”

I’m sure they are totally fine places if you hate plowing sidewalks and/or don’t have kids.
Or if you don't have mobility issues, which is why Toronto is adding sidewalks where they don't exist...
 
I don’t mind so much, it’s nice to not need to plow the sidewalk either. Not everyone has kids
Clearing sidewalks has a lot more to do with older people, than kids. I've known several people in their 50s and 60s having bad injuries on Toronto sidewalks in the winter. And it only gets worse with those that already have issues, leaving them virtual shut-ins until they are properly clear.

What Work is Taking Place?
As early as Wednesday, May 22, 2024, crews will be performing overnight track grinding works on Eglinton Avenue East, between Leslie Street and Kennedy Road. Crews will move along the guideway performing work on the eastbound and westbound tracks. Periodic turn restrictions and lane reductions may be required while work takes place in the intersections. A Traffic Control Personnel and/or Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place in the intersections. One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times on Eglinton Avenue East. This work is expected to take place during the daytime and overnight periods between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m., for approximately two (2) months. Upon completion of this work, periodic short-term lane reductions may be required on Eglinton Avenue East to facilitate special activities.

What to Expect
Daytime and overnight noise from construction activities, including grinding metal, can be expected. Crews will move along the guideway performing work on the eastbound and westbound tracks. Periodic turn restrictions and lane reductions may be required while this work takes place in the intersections. A Traffic Control Personnel and/or Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place in the intersections. One lane of traffic in each direction will be maintained at all times on Eglinton Avenue East. Expect delays while traveling through the area.

HOURS OF WORK
• As early as Wednesday, May 22, 2024, for approximately two (2) months.
• Work is expected to take place during the daytime and overnight periods between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
• Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
• Work may be longer or shorter than expected.

TRAFFIC DETAILS
• Periodic turn restrictions and lane reductions may be required while this work takes place in the intersections.
• A Traffic Control Personnel and/or Paid Duty Officer will be present while this work takes place in the intersections.

PEDESTRIAN DETAILS
• No changes to the current pedestrian routes are expected as a result of this work.

So does this mean they are finally happy with their rail alignment and final commissioning can take place?
 

Is there anyone here who understands sketchy idiot as a second language who can say what safety issues could possibly arise from knowing what is wrong with this line? Or why anyone should accept economic harm as an argument for keeping such fundamental information a secret?

Privacy officials with Metrolinx knocked two separate freedom of information requests about the line and claimed releasing the information could cause economic damage to the provincial government and even harm the future safety of the line.
