First sections for the 2 west tower cranes installed today and a first time seeing it done this way.

The south tower has rebar footing with no pour concrete. The north tower has nothing at all and sitting on something that looks like bracing and shims.

More to follow when I get to today photos next week

The excavation at this point seems pretty shallow for a three-story parking garage. Do the crane foundations signify the deepest extent of the digging, or does the lowest parking level not extend to where they're being installed?

The crane is usually (always?) anchored at the lowest area and the plans clearly call for a 3-level underground parking structure and I assume they can measure so I guess it's deep enough!

There's a guy in disgrace in the background standing facing the wall (maybe he's been told to take 5 minutes to think about what he's done wrong?)

Reminds me of Blair Witch Project

You may be right... There's a guy in disgrace in the background standing facing the wall (maybe he's been told to take 5 minutes to think about what he's done wrong?) - he does give a bit of scale to the retaining wall.
Naaa!!! he watching the excavator trim the wall which is out of the picture and can be seen in the 2nd photo. One could say he was doing something else standing there if it wasn't for the 2nd photo.

SW crane build continues - several workers tip-toeing all over it this morning to prepare it for the next big piece. If you look closely you’ll see a couple of them in black at the very top.
