So I went in tonight, super glad we have a nearby pharmacy for once. Great addition to the area. But I will say I was surprised at how small it was.

It’s pretty much an L shape with -and I was surprised by this- a second level. There are a couple stairs up and an elevator that requires staff assistance.

The good news I suppose (for those who can’t do stairs and are impatient on staff assistance) is that if you want to access the pharmacy and snacks, you’d enter on the western side of its Front street facing. If you want beauty supply, then Cherry. I never quite realized there was such a slope from one end of the store to the other.

There is no post office and zero room to expand for one, but the pharmacy has two appt rooms. I would say it’s 1/3 of the size of Jarvis and Queens Quay.

I stopped in to this Shopper's this morning. It's pretty much what I expected. It appears to be the same size as most Shopper's around this area but has a strange layout.

Personally, I find the problem with Shopper's is that it is trying to be too many things with some of their footprints. I think this location would have benefited from strictly being a Grocer/Pharmacy. 🤷‍♂️

I think it’ll benefit from being right beside transit, and right across from a future seniors home. It’s kinda, snacks, beauty, pharmacy- and I don’t know how much business their beauty section does.

Marcheleos is now open til 9 on weekends, which gives Shoppers an hour extra- but if you’re coming from Canary you’ve got them, the restaurants and the convenience store as options before you cross Cherry.

From Distillery there’s the 24hr Aisle24 (and its prices). You really can’t count on any other Distillery businesses because the only time they stay open beyond 3pm, you have to pay admission and line up with tourists.

It’ll be interesting to see how Shoppers does on price. Because I can see Canary residents getting off the streetcar after a long day and debating whether to cross the street and get their frozen dinner and optimum points- OR continue walking home and stop in on MarcheLeo’s to get produce or hit the hot table.

Anyone know how this location compares with the Queen st one that got relocated?

If you’re a parent to a baby (and there are plenty in this area) this is an amazing addition to the neighborhood. Marche Leo’s and no frills does not have all the needed products.
