Can't wait to see the main building replaced with a new friendly streetscape and new road connections to the existing grid. Ossington will be extended south to a new western extension of Adelaide, but I'd like to see it go further, to King. It could be gently curved a bit to the east to go round the townhomes and then south to meet Douro street on the other side of King.

Problem with extending Ossington south: the wall. It's borderline sacrosanct, you know...

Why not re-enlist Alsop? Or keep it in Toronto and go with a local firm that's not scared of a little color. If ones' mission is teaching addicts that there is a wondrous life outside their self-imposed prison, are beige bricks and grey mullion windows the best way to inspire confidence? Phase 1a incorporates many materials including reddish/brown brick on the three Alternative Milieu buildings and even some wood accents (see post 96).
As I read it, the suggestion is to draw on successful midrise designs to inspire the development of future phases.
