Toronto Backstage On The Esplanade | 116.73m | 36s | Cityzen | P + S / IBI

I'm glad this building will cover up the parking entrance next door. (and provide more retail) It will be good for The Esplanade.

For those wondering how the view of the 25 The Esplanade flat iron will change, I grabbed this shot on Saturday the 24th from the GO Bus Terminal to the west. Forms for the first floor of the Backstage tower are now in place, allowing me to show the approximate space that the tower will take up in the future.

Yes, as noted, the view of the flat iron will be compromised, but there will still be some places to get a dramatic view of the building.

Noticed the tower crane has been moved. Should pick up even more speed.

The curve on this one is starting to show and it looks quite nice. It's strong enough to be a prominent design feature but it doesn't block out the curve on the large flat iron building beside it. I think this gateway to The Esplanade will be quite dramatic and beautiful. The added retail spaces will be a big plus too, as will a connection to the PATH.

Somebody, post some new pics.

Love that last pic. Looks like some interesting views for the future south facing residents.
I'm a bit of a railway buff but even I couldn't stand the thought of having all those tracks under my nose.
Still...
