The height of the building caught my attention on Bathurst.
But... if we looked up more often, downtown, we'd see wire hazards everywhere.

Nice fabric building. Not sure I love the two brick selections, but you can't really go wrong with a simple grid expression. Glazing looks good too.

It's nice to see the spandrel is flush with the mullions instead of raised mullions over the panel.

The way in which they've fit together the pre-cast brick panels looks absolutely atrocious to my eye. Even the smaller gaps aren't good and I can see unevenness with the naked eye.........but the large gaps on the left...........oh.... wow....ugh.
You can make precast brick look good. Shim Sutcliffe showed one way on the hotel project; but there are others such as you using overlaid detail pieces/trim to cover the gaps.
What you see above will not be fixed with a bit of mortar or grout. At least not in a way that would satisfy me.

You're right those types of section where the bricks don't match they should cap it with a seal etc for cosmetic reasons lol!

On the other hand, the precast and the glazing look muchly superior (imo) to most offerings from this organization... the BDPQ effect at work?

Worth noting, there are several ways to make "brick" panels, most of which use actual brick on the exterior, if only veneers, and some that only use precast, and which are then stained to look like brick. The staining route, which I assume is the cheapest, can actually look good when done properly, but Pemberton are paying for a better quality than that here, if not the absolute best. So while some panel types are better than others, none look quite as good as hand laid of course… but every type of brick panel looks better than back-painted glass spandrel panel, so bring it on!
