Toronto 2 Queen West | 34.44m | 7s | Cadillac Fairview | Zeidler

OMG so satisfying to see that brutal scaffolding come down after all this time. Nice to see they kept the timber windows.

It's shocking what Toronto has done to literally 100s of formerly beautiful buildings. Thankfully, some of the ugly is being stripped away bit by bit. Gives one hope for Queen West, Bloor West, and numerous other streets. There are so many gems hidden behind decades of schlock. Very satisfying indeed. :)

Anyone know whether the brick is new, or did they just give it an extremely intense scrubbing?

2 Queen project pivots from restoration to re-creation

Seems like the original idea was to reuse the bricks but in the end a lot of the building was too damaged to be salvaged, so it's mostly a very detailed recreation.
