At first blush, looking at the proposed building(s) plus the parcel, I'm unclear if this could meet the City's long time objective of establishing a view corridor to the clock tower.

The clock tower is towards the westernmost portion of the proposed site, so it's not out of the question.

I've quite liked the idea of creating a new pedestrian corridor from Bloor to Yorkville with a view terminus at the Clock Tower.

Hopefully that will be reflected here.

I don't think this development will be relevant vis-a-vis that view corridor (assuming you mean a north-south corridor). The most westerly of the properties included in this assembly is 21 Yorkville, which is still east of the clock tower. The building directly across from the clock tower is 27 Yorkville, which I believe is the most easterly lot in the assembly for 33 Yorkville.

There's also the little matter of a Holt Renfrew and Cumberland Terrace building in the way that would block any view of the tower from Bloor.

Excellent post!

Really good to see the park and public space aligning with the view corridor to the fire hall/clock tower.

The attention on the pedestrian level is above average, based on what I'm seeing. Very nice.

The tower itself, I'm not blown away by at first blush, but I will reserve judgement.

I was just about to say the same thing - a giant, hulking CrystalBlu is a scary thought, and that's exactly what this project reminds me of.

Hmm Looks like everything else going up basically. I'd like to see more 'up close' details.

It's got that New York City early 1930s Rockefeller skyscraper vibe happening. At least it's not another simple vertical rectangle box. I wouldn't be surprised if they change the whole look for something even cheaper !
