Tories Won't Intervene to Protect Canadians from Foreign Death Penalty

The Omar Khadr case is just proof that Canada is not all that it claims to be under the conservative leadership. Time to get rid of these yahoos. Time for an election. Who cares about the cost of an election when the government is bailing out failed industries and letting big business rape our public purse all in the name of recovery from a greed imposed recession.

I wish the SCC would also order them to intervene in the case of Omar Khadr.

I couldn't care about the rest of that family, but I think Omar deserves a chance in life. Absolutely we need to bring him back to Canada.

Indeed, my preferred solution would be to repatriate Khadr and charge the mother with child abuse, treason, and offering material assistance to a banned organization. I don't believe in the sins of the father visiting the son but I sure as hell believe the parent should be held responsible for how they raise their kids. And a ruling like that would at least deter parents who encourage their kids to take up causes in the old country.

Another domino has fallen in the US. The number of states with the death penalty dropped to 34.

Governor Pat Quinn signed legislation this week to permanently abololish capital punishment, the 3rd in the last two years.
