Stratford is quite nice, in my opinion. There are some great restaurants there owing to a number of culinary schools in town and sustained by the festival crowds, and the architecture and riverside gardens/walkway are beautiful, in all seasons. Not sure what UrbanDreamer finds so unappealing. Leave the urban hipper-than-thou attitude at home, take a drive in the fall, see a show, take a stroll along the river, enjoy a nice meal in a small independent restaurant and have a nice day in the province!
