Simcoe St. Underpass & Extension

drum, what happened to the bottom of that building? (the blue)

There was some sort of 'shed' at the end of Simcoe - just below the rail line. When it was removed and the area excavated there was an area of wall with no cladding. They removed a bit more to make it a more symetrical shape and the blue is the plastic/waterproof undercoating used on many buildings. No doubt there will be new cladding installed soon. Will it match the rest of the wall? Who knows?

was it tied into the wall of that building? it looks like the wall of that building was irregular and then fixed.

July 8

Other than removing the fences, it finish. You now can get to the walkway and the side street. Saw northbound cars using this section.

What are those strips that run across the road? It looks almost like an expansion joint. I don't understand why one would be needed here.

And what about that War on the Car that the City is fighting? (Granted, bike lanes are there too)

The car nuts will still call those bike lanes a battle in that war - since omitting them could have allowed for an extra car lane
