Yes it is H.T.H. On the south east section there used to be a loop to turn the electric's around. End of the line was Birchmount.

Yes, that's where the streetcar ended before being cut back to Victoria Park. But I was referring to the electric radial that ran all the way up to West Hill. There are traces of it along Kingston Rd even today.

Centennial-Rouge Church, built 1891
--located on Kingston Road @ 401
--originally Centennial Methodist Church, named to recognize the 100th anniversary (Centennial) of the death, in 1891, of John Wesley, founder of the Wesleyan Methodist Church organization.
--Centennial Road was named after this church, not Canada's Centennial in 1967 as some people believe.

The Toronto Hunt Club was established in by British Army officers of the Toronto garrison (Fort York) in 1843. It held gymkhana equestrian events at various sites around the city. In 1895 it acquired its first permanent home in a rural area east of the city between Kingston Road and the waterfront. In 1898 the streetcar was extended eastward to the site, and soon the area became a cottage district and then streetcar suburb of Toronto. This forced the equestrian activities to move further afield. In 1907 the horses were thus moved to a site in Thornhill (Steeles' Corner at Steeles Avenue and Yonge Street)
The original Hunt Club site in Scarborough was turned into a nine hole golf course in the 1930s, and it remains an exclusive private golfing club today. The current club champion is Chris Jones as was determined on the annual Champions Day, September 18, 2010.

Do you have the date of this photo, Anna?
Let's see who gets the first "Now" photo of this view - brewster or I.

Never knew that was a bank Anna. Its been a paint depot for years. I'll guess 1958. If you don't mind me asking , what keyword did you type in to get this to pop up from the archives? Challenge accepted Goldie. GL.

This is a neat shot of a hydro truck during the 60 cycle conversion!
There is a great film in the archives about it, wish I could find a link to it.
