None of this is staged for some greater plan. People want to come up with the most complicated explanations sometimes. They're simply idiots, operating at a base level in everything they do. Is Rob spinning further out of control because they're buzzed by all the international attention and famous people coming to gawk at them? Sure, but that's because they're idiots, and know no shame.

"Lots" can mean anything. 15-20% can equal "lots". And likewise, said "support" isn't necessarily a uniform matter of polling-booth support, or bound-to-a-single-candidate support--or, for that matter, if we're speaking in terms of his Grey Cup cheering squad, 416 support.

You have to remember: "impossible to get re-elected" does *not* automatically equate with "reduced to 2003 Nunziata if not Jakobek levels".

I tend to agree with this view. There's no long game here. Robbie will likely be charged with multiple crimes in the coming months. They're lost in the buzz and attention they're getting now and trying to make whatever they can out of it. There's no strategy at play here. These guys are megalomaniacs...but they're not particularly bright.

They look like professional wrestlers. Look at the sad expression on Wong-Tam's face, just the sheer disappointment in the circus in which she has to work. I also like Goldsbie reaching to cover his mouth in disbelief. Also note, they started doing this before the break is called.

On the first point, most people outside the City of Toronto love Rob Ford because they associate him with rural conservative politics and a hatred of downtown socialism. Most, I'm willing to wager, don't know too much about the ins and outs of his depravity (anyone cheering for a repeated drunk driver who was putting the lives of TO families at risk is just a POS scumbag). If they do know these things and they still cheer for him, they are just horrible human beings. And there is no shortage of those...

And just for the record, also remember the common association of mass field sporting events (esp. in the UK and Europe) with far-right hooliganism and easily-rallied masses. Yeah, that may be an exaggeration re the CFL, but...

Reading comprehension.

I never said it was probable that Ford would be re-elected, only possible, and I said it in the context of a reply to a post about the phenomenon of people voting against their own interests because they have been manipulated into it through propaganda.
