Like thousands of phone calls a day and billions in gravy - the hyperbole is downright North Korean.

The court on Friday unsealed one of 36 packages of informations to obtain a search warrant (ITOs). The first package explains why police requested a dozen of the more than 80 warrants involved in this summer’s Project Traveller guns-and-gangs raids.
But the documents are heavily redacted, and the limited portion made available Friday remains under a publication ban, pending further arguments.
I heard on the radio that in the Thursday Star (print version), the Ford / Price story was front page news and not the train / bus crash in Ottawa. I will check the old papers at the library if this is true.
If true, it does reflect poorly on the Star and their claim that they are not unfairly picking on the Mayor.
Broadsheets (unlike tabloids like the Sun or Now) have more than one story on the front page. The Star's front page for that day has both items, both under the fold:

Ottawa crash did have less space than the other, but both were there. Take from that what you will.

The print version was likely printed BEFORE the bus crash happened
Mayor Rob Ford has joined the campaign to release Canadians John Greyson and Tarek Loubani from prison in Cairo, where they been detained for more than a month without charges.
In a letter to Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Ford expressed concern for the men, and articulated his support for Ottawa’s ongoing attempts to free them.
“We respectfully offer the support of the City of Toronto and its Council to you and the Government of Canada as you make every effort to secure the immediate release and return home of these individuals,” he wrote.
Greyson, a Toronto filmmaker and Loubani, an emergency room doctor from London, Ont., were arrested in Cairo on Aug. 16 amid mass demonstrations. According to their families, they were detained when they entered a police station to ask for directions.
Greyson’s sister said she is “very appreciative” of the support from the mayor and council.
“I think (the letter) indicates how much the people of Toronto are concerned about this case,” Cecilia Greyson said. “We’re all just really worried about their health and well being and safety.”

It's just another bs non story dredged up by the professional maggots at the Red Star and blown out of proportion to smear the most popular fiscally conservative mayor in Toronto history. Rob Ford is out there today fighting for the TCHC community and DoLittle and friends are spending their time doing this hatchet job on his young hardworking staff.
They weren't reporting on David Miller when he couldn't get his hands on the GST, when he couldn't get his hands on the land transfer tax, when he couldn't get money for his precious streetcars. The microscope wasn't on him when he blew up! It's all on Rob Ford. They want to spend like drunken sailors so they put him under more scrutiny than any mayor in history to discredit and distract the hardworking taxpayers. It's sickening.
Did Ford ever show the benefits of the trade mission to Chicago? And what happened to the trade mission to Boston? I believe it was cancelled, but why was it not re-planned?...
...rob ford is going down there for a vacation, full stop.
