I guess the testimony from the TTC streetcar operator and Mayor Ford supposedly admitting that he did not stop behind the back doors of the streetcar was sufficient for TTC management

Memo to all streetcar operators. If you see, or think you had seen, or encounter Mayor Rob Ford committing a traffic violation, please do the following:

Toronto engages in some fantasy league mayoral elections for 2014............http://www.openfile.ca/toronto/blog/2012/toronto-engages-some-fantasy-league-mayoral-elections-2014

I'm okay with Ms. Chow staying out of the race. We still have Mr. Vaughan who will easily beat Ford in the next election (fingers crossed).

Don Cherry is a very real entitled, over 50, overweight, white male, who beliefs are based on a world he thinks exsisted 60 years ago. Someone should tell him the his ideal post WWII world, never was, it was a fantasy created by the politics and media of the day. He, the Ford's and their types need to get over this fact and start living in 2012.

He's nothing like that in real life.

totally agree. It's one thing to be at your cottage for the long weekend. but you can't walk outside of your office for 20 minutes to raise a flag? really?

To borrow a line from The Onion, I really feel like there needs to be a newspaper headline that reads...

Conservatives Voice Opposition to What They Imagine Pride Parade To Be

NDP and Liberal politicians, including the likes of Thomas Mulcair and Bob Rae, were out in full force at the Toronto Pride Parade. Councillor Mike Layton, Leafs GM Brian Burke and Rick Mercer were also to be seen.

The closest we got to our mayor was someone in dressed in costume with a sign that said something like "I'd rather be at the cottage."

But did Mayor Rob Ford make an appearance at the Canada Day Parade in East York? Last I heard, East York is part of the City of Toronto.

I don't think Adam Vaughan can beat Ford. I consider myself Left of Centre but what I want in our next Mayor is the ability to unite the city and do away with this false downtown vs outer city rivalry. Vaughan has been quoted as not wanting to go to the outer city. He's happy with living and working downtown -- as are many downtowners -- but the Mayor cannot be seem as favouring parts of the city versus others. With that mindset, he should remain councillor of his downtown ward.

Why can't we have affordable / reliable transit in Toronto??? 30 min Delayed on the GO TRAIN this morning... Only in Toronto do we have people forgetting to turn the switch signals after returning from Canada Day long weekend.
