Another Rob Ford legacy project doing splendidly:

“We feel like we are being held hostage, and if trustees are not willing to act decisively, we will be left with a big hole in our field for many more years,” it says.

Construction at Central Tech has been halted and may stop completely according to Matt Raizenne, owner of Razor Management Inc., the company that undertook the project.

"What are you going to do? Say no to everything? Say no to development? Say no to everyone coming into the city?” questioned Mayor Ford.

First we need to hear what Glen De Dumbaker has to say. He's gonna throw a hissy fit when he finds out about this.

Glen? Nah. He's a coward. From what I've seen, he jumps on whatever bandwagon the people he's sucking up to want. In the Miller years, he gushed about LRT as "the iPad of transit." Under Rob, it was subways, subways, subways. Then he followed Karen Stintz. Under Tory, well, his fourth station idea didn't last long.

LOL, he should have proposed a subway line to Don Bosco instead.

1. Donald Trump is from NYC & Rob Ford is from Toronto, two of the most cosmopolitan, diverse cities in the world.

Difference is that Trump attracts a lot of white people and Ford has a pretty diverse following.

Now that Tory has apparently shortened the extension to a single stop without his knowleddge - proposing the money be used for a light-rail line instead - Glenn De Baeremaeker has declared it “a gigantic win” for Scarborough.

De Baeremaeker and a former mid-town councillor, Karen Stintz, shifted Toronto Council’s support in 2013 away from a seven-stop LRT line to a three-stop continuation of the Bloor-Danforth Subway.

Since then, though, a faction on council “whose goal in life is to stop the Scarborough Subway any way that they could” have tried to sabotage it, De Baeremaeker said on Wednesday, Jan. 20, after news leaked of a new Scarborough transit proposal.

The Scarborough Centre councillor called it a compromise which validates the need for a Scarborough extension, but added it is “a substantial net gain” for area residents.

“I hate to admit it but some of these people have drafted a better plan than I did,” said De Baeremaker, who hadn’t seen details but predicted most of his Scarborough colleagues will support the new plan.

“If that allows the downtown councillors to stop fighting and sabotaging it, if that’s the price of peace, Scarborough’s doing very good.”
